What started off as an idea and a conversation in December ended up being a very successful mini session in April!! One night in December, I was scrolling through Facebook as I do and I came across a post by Lily the Unicorn. Lily's handler, Mandy, was sharing that she was ready to be booked again this year for photoshoots! I thought having a unicorn for photos would be so fun and unique, so I put out a post trying to gage interest. Of course, this mini session was very popular from the get-go, so we had to book Lily for this month when we thought it would be warmer. Indiana weather had a different plan though. Continue reading to see how these unicorn minis turned out!

5 Facts About Your Photographer You May Not Have Known - Getting to Know Your Photographer3/28/2023 The face behind the camera is TRYING to be better about sometimes getting in front of the camera!! I love getting to learn about all of the different people I meet through this business, so I figured you might want to learn a little more about me as well. If you are looking to book with me or have and don't know me as well, this post is for you! I think it is VERY important that you and your photographer "click". Double-checking that you do get along with your photographer is something that you should do before booking your session! If you guys do "click" you tend to have a wayyyyyyyyyyyy better experience with your photoshoot, and you may even like your photos better because of it! YES, making sure you like your photographers editing style and price are important as well, but what is the point if you don't like the person taking the photos! I am an open book. I plan to do a series of "Getting to Know Me" blogs, so this is the first one! If you want to see a shorter version of who I am, check out the about section as well! So here we go, 5 facts about me!
Welcome to the first blog in my Vendor Spotlight series! When it comes to event planning, there are SO many choices to make. Sometimes those choices can lead to a ton of unneeded stress. I always help my wedding clients out in any event planning needs I physically can, which often includes vendor recommendations. Anymore it is quite simple to make a post on Facebook looking for a venue / vendor and quickly gathering a ton of names to go through. While this is a great way to gather vendor lists, it can be stressful to go through them all and pick some favorites! It can be hard to keep track of what each vendor offers and how much they offer it for! This is why I intend to create vendor lists for my clients to use as they are wedding planning! This is how this blog post idea came to fruition. I think it is important for small / local businesses to support other small / local businesses and this is why I plan to spotlight quite a few vendors in the central Indiana area. I plan to interview many different vendors in the area so you can learn even more about their business, and potentially why you should hire them for your next event! My first interview happened this past Friday, March 10th, with a very LARGE and very BEAUTIFUL venue in the New Castle area. Keep reading to see how my interview with their Director of Event Services went!

Wedding planning can be super stressful, especially if you choose to plan your wedding without any help from a wedding coordinator. There are always SOOOOOOO many choices that you and your significant other have to make. How many people you are going to invite, who you are going to invite, what color tablecloths you will have, if you want to do a first look or not.....it all can become a bit overwhelming. In the mix of it all, it can be easy to forget to plan a rehearsal or you may even think it's not necessary to have! Let me tell you. After photographing PLENTY of weddings within my last three years of business, planning my own wedding and helping my sister plan hers, you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE A REHEARSAL!! Here's why:
I love taking newborn photos, yet an issue I have stumbled into is the lack of a studio. This is why I offer At-Home newborn sessions! I have actually found a ton of perks to having newborn sessions at their home. However, the pros to that is a blog for another day. Today, I wanted to talk about what I bring to these newborn sessions to get studio level quality that requires minimal set-up! Without these tools, my job would be wayyyyy more difficult. Here are the items I bring with me to every newborn session!
CALLING ALL 2023 SENIORS!!!! It is TIME to get some inspiration for your senior photos! Senior photos are some of my absolute favorites to take and here is why. I often get to start a session with a shy / unenthusiastic person (because let's face it, it's nerve-wracking taking professional photos at first!), and end a session with a laughing individual who has completely come out of their shell! I love getting to see how different personalities come out during these sessions. They really tend to bring their individuality to their sessions, and I LOVE IT!! At first though, these pictures can be a little awkward, so I love having my clients prepared and ready to go on the day of their session. That is why I am starting a series all about seniors, senior photoshoots, and how to make your session the BEST! The first post in this series will be my three MUST have pictures that you HAVE to take during your next senior session! You will thank me later! Keep reading to see which images you (the seniors) need to make sure you get!!
REMINDER FOR EVERYONE: VALENTINE'S DAY IS NEXT WEEK!!!!! Please do NOT forget to make your plans and buy your gifts (if you choose to do that)! I know by the title it makes it sound as if I don't like flowers or chocolates as gifts. However, this is not the case. I LOVE (and I mean love) both of those things very much (especially the chocolate part). Trust me, most people would be thrilled to get either of those things. And let's be real, gifts and extravagant plans are tooooottalllllyyyy not necessary to celebrate this day. Nonetheless, I know plenty of you are looking for gift ideas that don't "suck" or are a little more unique than the typical things. WELL, HAVE NO FEAR!! I have the perfect gift idea for you. Continue reading to see what my gift idea is!
